Each day you will have a maths and a phonics activity to complete. These are listed below for you. During our morning google meet we will set additional activities. A brief overview of the session and activities set are also listed below.

Reception Phonics Try and practise your sounds and actions a couple of times a week. Click the link below for the video;
This week we will be learning the ow sound. Click the link below to see what objects Geraldine the giraffe finds with the ow sound in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJtvjxBYg7I Monday- See if you can read the ow words on the flashcards. How many did you get right? How many words can you read in a minute? Two Minutes? Tuesday- Today we are going to write some sentences. Download the ow sentence writing in the resources and copy the sentences. You can then draw a small picture for each sentence. Read the yes/ no questions and answer them. Nursery phonics This week we are looking at rhymes and rhyming. Over the next week complete the activities from the rhythm and rhyme home learning sheet. |

Monday- Literacy 9.45am Today we will be reading the story Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson. We will look at all the different animals in the story and what words we could use to describe them. Home challenge 1-. In your literacy book draw an animal from the story and write some sentences to describe it. Remember to use some super adjectives! Nursery children we would like you to draw a picture of an animal from the story and describe the animal to an adult. Tuesday- Maths 9.45am Today we will be looking at symmetry. We will be learning what this means and how to check if things are symmetrical. Home challenge 1-All children to have a go at cutting out a butterfly template. Then using paint create a pattern on one wing. Fold the wings together and press down. Open your butterfly. Is the pattern symmetrical? Reception- complete the butterfly symmetry worksheet. Home challenge 2- Today we would like you to make a toucan. You could use paper plates, card, play dough whatever you like. We will show these at our afternoon meet. Here are some ideas;

Daily reading (10 mins) or sharing some stories together.

Practising Phonics sounds (10 mins) adult to write a sound down, can you tell them the sound? Can you give them a word containing that sound?

Complete any of the maths booklets.
