Welcome to Class 2!
Welcome to Class 2! We are a class made up of Year 1 and 2 children who are always kind and caring towards one another. In our class we believe that learning should be exciting, creative and engaging. We look for lots of opportunities to grow as independent learners and critical thinkers. We love learning and our behaviour is exemplary therefore we act as role models for younger members of our school family. Every day offers us new and exciting opportunities that take us one step further towards a bright and joyful future.
Hi Class 2,
I am missing seeing you all in the classroom so much but love seeing all of your smiling faces in our online lessons. I am super proud of how well you are all engaging in our new way of learning. You are answering questions and listening really well. Please remember, you can turn up to our sessions 5 minutes early if you want to so that you can catch up with your friends.
Every day we are going to have 3 sessions:
Year 2 - 9.05 - 9.25 - Maths
Year 1 - 9.25 - 9.45 - Maths
Years 1 and 2 - 10.45 - 11.00 - English
Years 1 and 2- 12:55 – 1.15 - Topic
On Wednesdays, there is a French lesson with Madame Elliot 2.30 – 3:00pm and a weekly Worship on a Monday at 3pm with Mr Challinor. We also have a ‘chat/playtime’ session every Thursday from 2 – 2.20pm.
From 6.00pm I will post the resources and activities you will need for the next school day on our Google Classroom page. You all have a home learning pack which consists of a Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling booklet, a comprehension booklet, an exercise book, red spelling book and reading books.
Once you have completed your work, it would be great if you could send me a photo or scanned image so that I can see how you are getting on. You might even find some of your work in the School Photo Gallery on the website! You can either email your work or send me a picture via Class Dojo. Please send your work during school hours 8:30 – 3:30 and I will try my best to comment on as many pieces of work as I can.
Please try to complete all of the activities below once a day:
- Reading for 15 minutes
- Practising spellings using Spelling Shed
- Education City for 10 minutes
I am so impressed with all of the work you have been completing and your participation in the live lessons. Keep it up!
I can’t wait for us all to be back together again in the classroom.
Love Miss Derry
