We have had a busy week in Class 1, so much so that not many pictures were taken this week! We have continued our topic of ‘Sparkle, Shine, Celebrate!’ by focusing on the amazing book ‘Stick Man’. The children have really enjoyed learning about this book and Christmas. We had a hot chocolate and cozied up to watch the BBC version of Stick Man too!
This week the children have also written Christmas cards, completed lots of Christmas crafts for the craft bags, made Christingle’s ready for the Church service and continued practicing the Christmas play.
The phonics sound ‘ng’ has been learnt this week and that is the last sound that will be learnt this year. The rest of our phonics sessions will be focusing on blending, segmenting and writing sounds.
Our math’s focus this week has been shapes with four sides and learning about day and night routines.
