What a lovely time I have had teaching nursery and reception this week!
We have started our new topic 'Into the woods' and 'winter time' and have been talked about winter weather and how to keep ourselves safe during winter time. We have started looking at what creatures live in the woods and in cold places such as the north and south poles.
The children have created trees in the style of the artist Seurat for our Woodland display.
The children have listened to stories such as 'A snowy night', The Bear Snores On' and 'Jack and the Bean Stalk'.
In PHSE we talked about how to keep ourselves seen on dark mornings and evenings and how to keep our bodies warm when its cold outside.
In music we listened to Vivaldi's winter and looked at how percussion instruments can be used to sound like winter weather.
We hope that your children have enjoyed the start of the spring term and I look forward to reading the Gruffalo and making woodland creatures next week!
