Spring term 1 week 4

We have been very excited about learning a new foundation subject this week. In the afternoons we have moved onto Science and the topic of plants. So far we have looked at and labelled the different parts of plants. We have also had a go at using scrap materials to make our own plants. We really enjoyed doing that! In Maths, Year 1 have started to learn how to read and write numbers to 50. We have counted forwards and backwards to and from 50, we have looked at the tens and ones in numbers to 50 and have had a go at representing numbers to 50. Year 2 have come to the end of their work on multiplication and division. They have revised odd and even numbers and had a go at dividing by 2, 5 and 10. In English, we are continuing to focus upon London but we are creating our own information leaflets about our favourite sights. So far we have collected lots of information about Big Ben and are going to be writing about this as our first place of interest. A busy but fun packed week, well done Class 2!
