Class 2 Summer 1 week 1

It has been great to have everyone back in school this week, rested and happy after the Easter holidays! One of our PE lessons, this half term, is to practise our catching skills. We had lots of fun but realised that we need to do lots more work on this, there were balls going everywhere!!! In English, we have been looking at the story of The Great Dragon Rescue by M.P. Robertson. We have used it to write some super setting descriptions and predictions. Miss Derry thinks that our writing is getting much better! In Maths, Year 2 have been learning how to tell the time. We have learnt all about o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to times. We are practising how to read and write these times too. In History we are learning about significant queens. This week, we have focussed upon Queen Elizabeth I, ask us what we can remember about her. Overall we have had a great first week back and are looking forward to what next week brings.
