Summer 2 Week 2

This week we have all worked hard despite some disruption to our usual timetable. All of us have displayed positive attitudes towards our learning. Our value this half term is Peace and we created some acrostic poems.

We have planned, and begun to write, our own explanation texts in the style of the 'Stuff you should know' book. The choice of topics is varied and includes super cars, football and looking after various animals. We will be finishing these over the next week.

We have moved on to look at the properties of shape in maths, and have been drawing lines and angles accurately, and calculating angles on a straight line. All of us have approached this new maths block with enthusiasm and the lessons have been described as fun.

For our Art this half term we will be designing and building sculptures with repeating geometric shapes. We started by drawing our own designs and then split into groups to share our individual designs and begin to design our group sculpture. We aim to build our sculptures from balsa wood and our planning will allow us to use the wood efficiently with minimal waste.
