It’s been another fantastic week in Class 3! We have enjoyed writing diaries from the perspective of a WW1 soldier. To enhance our writing, we tried hard to use rich vocabulary which included WW1 language such as platoon, comrade, trench foot etc. In Maths, Year 3 have been using mental methods to add and subtract 1s and 10s from a three-digit number. We found it helpful to use the base ten to build the number first whilst Year 4 have been subtracting two 4-digit numbers using exchanges. We always have to remember to place the greatest number on top for our subtraction to work. In Science, we classified living things into different groups. We then created classification keys to group the class which required a lot of questioning and observing. Using this skill, we created our own classification keys for confectionary sweets. Overall, a great week of learning. Well done!
