Autumn Term 1 - Week 3

Another super in Class 3! 

In English, we have been writing sentences using subordinating conjunctions (such as when, as, if, because, since). Firstly, we used sentence strips to help us build our sentences using subordinate clauses and main clauses. Then we put all of our ideas into writing a diary in first person as if we were Rhodpdis from the Egyptian Cinderella story. In Maths, we have been flexibly partitioning numbers using part whole models and place value counters. Also, we have been finding 1,10,100 or 1000 more or less than a number. Working in groups, we used place value charts to help us. In History, we explored why the River Nile was so important to the Ancient Egyptians. On Tuesday, we made our harvest crafts in preparation for our harvest festival in church. We made autumnal wreaths and harvest moons using water colours. Well done Class 3 for a great week!
