A Whirlwind Week in Class 2!

Phew! What a busy week we've had in Class 2! It feels like we've packed so much learning and fun into just five days.

Maths: Measuring Masters!

We've been diving deep into the world of measurement this week, exploring centimetres (cms) and metres (ms). We started by using rulers and metre sticks to measure all sorts of objects around the classroom. It was really interesting to see how long our pencils were compared to our textbooks! The best part was when we took our learning outside. We had a mini-adventure, searching for things that were longer and shorter than a metre. It turns out, finding a stick exactly one metre long is harder than it looks!

Art: Alien Creations Take Shape!

Our clay alien projects have been taking centre stage in Art this week. We've been busy moulding and shaping our clay to create some truly imaginative alien friends. It was quite a messy process, but so much fun! We learned that clay takes a long time to dry, especially when it's as thick as our alien bodies. Luckily, the sun decided to shine, and we put our aliens outside to speed up the drying. Today, we finally got to paint them! The classroom was a riot of colour as we brought our aliens to life. We just have a few more finishing touches to add next week, and then they'll be ready for our big art exhibition! We can't wait to show you all!

English: Crayon Confessions!

In English, we had a very colourful task. We pretended to be one of the crayons from the book, "The Day the Crayons Quit", and wrote a letter to Duncan. We had to explain why we left the crayon box and what we had been up to. There were some very creative stories, with crayons going on amazing adventures and having all sorts of funny experiences. We really enjoyed imagining ourselves as colourful characters!

PE: Orienteering Experts!

Finally, in PE, we've been showing off our orienteering skills. We learned how to read maps and follow clues to complete different activities. It was a great way to get moving and work as a team. We felt like real explorers, navigating our way around the school grounds.

It's been a busy but brilliant week, and we're looking forward to even more exciting learning next week! Keep an eye out for photos of our finished alien creations and more updates from Class 2!
