Title: Celebrating Learning, Resilience, and Our School Values in Class 4
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have enjoyed another highly productive and encouraging week in Class 4. The pupils have consistently demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm, determination, and focus across all areas of the curriculum. Below is a summary of the wonderful learning experiences and positive achievements from this week.
Assessment Week and Resilience
This week was assessment week for Class 4. The children approached their quizzes in Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG), Reading, and Mathematics with outstanding resilience and a positive growth mindset. They viewed these activities as enjoyable challenges and worked with quiet determination. We are immensely proud of their hard work and mature attitudes.
English
In English, we commenced our exciting new National Geographic topic. The pupils began by analyzing key non-fiction text features and expanding their technical vocabulary. In addition, they developed their comprehension skills by answering detailed inference and vocabulary questions based on an engaging online article.
Mathematics
We began our new unit on multiplication and division this week. The children explored the foundational concepts of multiples, common multiples, and factors. Their logical reasoning and problem-solving skills were on full display as they investigated patterns within numbers.
PSHE: Living Our Value of Love
In Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education, we discussed the diverse ways in which we support our family members. This lesson linked directly to our core school value of love. The pupils shared heartfelt ideas about demonstrating care, kindness, and practical help within their households.
Computing: Living Our Value of Respect
During our Computing lesson, we focused on online safety by examining what constitutes healthy online habits. The children reflected on managing screen time and keeping personal information secure, linking their discussions to our school value of respect for both themselves and the wider digital community.
Harvest Art
In preparation for our Harvest Service on Thursday 15th, Class 4 created magnificent artistic pieces. Utilizing natural resources and a palette of rich autumnal colours, the children produced thoughtful artwork that celebrates the beauty of the season.
Physical Education: Living Our Value of Friendship
In Physical Education, the pupils completed a rigorous circuit training session that featured lateral jumps, mountain climbers, planks, and squats. Throughout the exercises, the children exemplified our school value of friendship by offering continuous encouragement, cheering on their peers, and celebrating individual and team perseverance.
Oracy Question of the Week
To support your child's learning at home, please take an opportunity to discuss the following question together:
"Why is it important to establish healthy online habits, and how can we ensure that our digital choices reflect respect towards ourselves and others?"
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We wish all of our Class 4 families a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Warm regards,
The Class 4 Team
