We always encourage our children to have a voice and be proactive, and a handful of children in Class 4 recently did exactly that! They came with a suggestion... we had a discussion... and they came back with a full proposal. This included costings, fundraising ideas, care plans, and a feeding and cleaning rota! We put out a request for equipment and support, went to view the best pets we could afford, and everything just lined up perfectly. It was totally doable—how could I say no?! The most amazing thing is that the Year 6 who initially came up with the idea and campaigned for it will only be here for a few more months. They thought of others and how these class pets would be a fantastic resource for teaching responsibility, teamwork, and care. I have to admit, I pop in most mornings now to check on our new arrivals! There is something very peaceful and calming about them. So, say hello to the newest members of Class 4!
