We have had another lovely week in Class 1. During our week, 'Super me, super senses', the children have been learning about all about what makes them unique and special, as well as their 5 'super' senses. Each day the children have learned about a different sense and our classroom activities have focused around using that sense. We started the week by talking about and naming our 5 senses. On Monday the children learned all about their sense of 'hearing'. We went on a listening walk, wrote and drew all of the different sounds we could hear, in different outdoor parts of the school. The children also completed a challenge where they had to draw a picture, by following a set of instructions. On Friday we learned about the sense of taste and the children completed a 'guess the taste' challenge, which they all thoroughly enjoyed!
In Literacy, the children have written about their 5 senses and given examples of how they use their senses. They have drawn and labelled pictures of their 5 senses.
In Maths, our Reception children have been practising their addition skills and our Nursery children have been exploring our Numicon counters.
During our afternoon sessions the children have completed inner portraits of what makes them special and unique, carried out some superhero, outdoor, P.E. activities. They have explored different textures and commented on how they feel.
Well done to Class 1 for a fabulous week!
Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend. We will see you again on Tuesday.
