This week, in Class 2, we have worked together to create our own story based on Boa’s Bad Birthday. We have learnt how to write an interesting beginning, middle and end to a story and have used what we have learnt to have a go at independently writing up the story. Miss Derry was very impressed but we need to make sure that we are remembering capital letters and full stops. In our RE lesson we looked at the Creation story. We know what God created on each of the seven days and have discovered where we can find out more about the event in the Bible. In Maths, Year 1 have been learning to count forwards and backwards and recognising 1 more and 1 less than a number. In phonics they have been learning about the ve, ai and tch graphemes. Year 2 have been learning to read, write and represent numbers up to 100 this week in Maths. On Wednesday, we did a practical session involving counting Lego, using our tens frames, which was great fun! In phonics, they have been learning about the soft c, pronounced s when c comes before e, i or y and about the silent k in the kn grapheme. Ask them to spell out a word containing the grapheme, you will be impressed!
Well done to our Star of the Week and winner of the 5X reader draw!
