Class 3 have been busy practising for our Harvest festival this week and Miss Hylton is so proud of how well everyone performed our ‘Harvest Samba’ in church. In English we started a new topic based around the book ‘Leon and the Place Between’ where a young boy undergoes a mysterious journey at the circus. We have been learning how to use prepositional phrases and expanded noun phrases. To enhance our learning, we brought the circus into Class 3 by listening to circus music, watching circus videos and smelling and tasting circus food. In Maths, Year 3 have been learning how to add and subtract 3-digit numbers and 1-digit numbers using place value counters and number lines. Year 4 have started their new module on addition and subtraction and have been working up to adding two 4-digit numbers with up to one exchange. In Science, we went on a minibeast hunt outside and found lots of interesting insects. To build on this learning, we then classified various insects using flow diagrams. In PE, we worked in groups to improve our passing and shooting skills in football. Well done Class 3 for another fantastic week!
