Image of Autumn Term 2 - Week 3

Class 3 have had a great week learning lots and having fun. This week was extra special because it was ‘Anti-Bullying Week’. Throughout the week, we discussed ways of creating the ripple effect of kindness. This is where one kind act can create a chain reaction.

In English, we have been doing lots of writing. Miss Hylton is so proud of how hard the children have worked to write their own escape story based on the book ‘Escape from Pompeii’. Their stories used lots of rich vocabulary including expanded noun phrases, inverted commas, prepositional phrases and so much more! In Maths, Year 3 have been refreshing their multiplication skills by looking at arrays, the 2 times and 5 times tables and the process of sharing equally between groups, whilst Year 4 have been learning to multiply and divide by 10 and 100. We used place value charts to show how the numbers move when multiplying and dividing. To finish off our Geography topic, we used the Ipads and atlas’ to locate mountain ranges from around the world. We also started our Science topic this week called ‘Forces and Magnets’. We carried out two great experiments and even managed to present our findings in a bar chart!

Well done Class 3 for a great week! Keep up the hard work.
