Here in Class 5, everyone has come back eager to learn after a well-earned Christmas break. We cannot believe that one week has nearly come to an end already - it has flown by. This week, we have settled back into the swing of things and found out about the subjects we will be studying this half term. We also have a fantastic, new touch screen whiteboard in the classroom, which we have been having a go on.
Following on from our last topic (fractions), we have now begun to learn about decimals in our maths lessons. We have discussed place value including - tenths, hundredths and thousands and we have touched on fraction to decimal conversion. We have started our new reading text - The Explorer (by Katherine Rundell) during our lessons.
In our science lesson this week, we have been classifying animals, investigating the different ways an animals can be grouped based on their features such as - cold-blooded, vertebrate and feathers.
