Summer Term 1 - Week 1

We’ve had a fantastic first week back to school after a well-deserved Easter break. In English, we have started reading the very famous book by Ted Hughes called ‘The Iron Man’. We have worked hard to describe the Iron Giant using expanded noun phrases. In Maths, Year 4 have been writing, comparing and ordering decimals. Year 3 have been recognising tenths as a fraction but also as a decimal. In Science, we have started learning about plants. We have planted bean seeds in our classroom to observe how roots grow. Then we investigated how water is transported within plants by using food dye and kitchen roll. On Thursday, we had a very special afternoon because the Funky Foods team delivered an insightful workshop to help reduce food waste. It got rather messy! A super first week back. Well done Class 3.
