What a wonderful week we have had in Class 4 learning about all our new topics for this half term. On Monday, we began by asking questions and making predictions relating to our new story 'Letters from the Lighthouse' written by Emma Carroll. In the afternoon, we began our Space topic in Science. After discussing what we already know and want to find out, plastecine models of the planets in our solar system were created to show their sizes relative to each other. Our History topic of The Second World War has already piqued the interest of many as we shared the context of the war and investigated the impact that propoganda had on the people living in Britain while the war continued. Towards the end of the week, an Outdoor Learning Day enabled everyone to immerse themselves in nature and show off their creativity when creating dens and artwork inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. Class 4 finished the week by learning about British values which linked suitably to the Rememberance service that took place at 11:00 am to remember what our heroes were fighting for.
