This week, in Class 3, we have started our new topic in English. This is a non-fiction topic where we learn how to write an explanation text. We have been using the book ‘Until I Met Dudley’ which offers fictional and real explanations as to how house hold appliances work. When writing our sentences, we have been focusing on using subordinating conjunctions, powerful and present tense verbs. In Maths, Year 4 have moved onto their decimal’s topic. We have been writing tenths as a fraction, decimal and representing the number on a place value chart. Year 3 have been measuring mass using grams and kilograms. In Geography, we used Google Maps to locate a variety of villages, towns and cities which surround our local area. In Science, we finished making our bionic hands and evaluated how fit for purpose they are. As well as this, we explored the three types of skeletons: hydrostatic skeleton, endoskeleton and exoskeleton. We then worked in groups to classify a range of animals into these three categories. Overall, another great week! Well done Class 3.
