Summer Term 1 - Week 5

This week, in Class 3, we have started a new topic in English which is centered around the very famous book ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. We have explored ways of describing the Iron Man using expanded noun phrases and smilies. As well as this, we have practiced using apostrophes accurately to show possession. In Maths, Year 3 have been adding and subtracting fractions whilst Year 4 have been making a whole using tenths and hundredths. We have found it helpful to use part whole models and hundred squares. In Science, we investigated the sugar content of some of our favourite snacks and what we found was pretty shocking. We then looked at patterns in the nutritional content to learn what food groups we should be eating. After this, we designed a healthy balanced meal which reflected the eat well plate. Overall, a super week. Well done Class 3!
