Welcome back Class 3! Well done for coming back to school with a positive attitude ready for learning.
This week, in English, we have started a new topic which is writing instructions. Our focus book is ‘How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth’ and we are really enjoying it! We have been learning ways to make our instructions great by using time adverbials, imperative verbs and adverbs. In Maths, we have moved onto learning about money! Year 3 have been adding and subtracting money whilst Year 4 have been comparing and estimating amounts of money using a decimal notation. In RE, we explored the meaning of a community and what communities we belong to. We then worked in pairs to create a poster explaining how we can be good neighbours in our communities. In history, we have started learning about Prehistoric Britain. We used our chronological knowledge to place the prehistoric time period on a timeline of history and then discussed how we know things about this time period. We researched the work of palaeontologists, archaeologists and geneticist as they play an important role in finding information about Prehistoric Britain. Overall a great first week back! Well done Class 3.
