This week, in Class 3, we have started a new topic in English which revolves around the wonderful picture book ‘A Stone for Sascha’ by Aaron Becker. We are really enjoying discussing the meaning behind the pictures. We have explored the journey the stone has been on by plotting where it has been on a world map. Once we got to grips with the story, we started writing sentences to describe the opening of the story. In Maths, Year 3 have finished their learning on time however this has been a tricky topic and it would be really beneficial to keep revisiting this as much as possible in school and at home. We have now started our shape topic focusing first on turns and angles. Year 4 have been identifying angles, triangles and quadrilaterals in their shape topic. In Science, we have been planting flowering plants and testing the conditions they need to grow. For each plant, we have taken away one of the variables to see if it survives (sunlight, water, soil, air and the correct temperature). We will keep observing our plants throughout next week to see our results. Overall another great week. Well done Class 3!
