Summer Term 2 - Week 5

Another week has flown by. Class 4 have been particularly creative this week through performing arts, drawing self portraits and creating sculptures. Performing arts have been practised throughout the week as final preperations for our Class 4 play have lit up the stage. Self-portraits and more have been created for the Kings Bromley Show that is on Saturday 13th July. Sculptures were created using vivid colours and paper to represent a personalised theme such as confusion or happiness. 

In maths, Year 5 have been focusing on decimals and developed a great understanding of place value. In English, we finished our debate texts by creating a conclusion that included our personal beliefs on the topic at hand. Wonderful formality, sentence starters and parenthesis were seen in many of the pieces. 

In PE, our class took part in a rounders tournament between the four teams (Air, Water, Earth and Fire) including the whole of KS2. Many impressive strikes were seen and an impressive improvement in tactics and teamwork was on show by the end of the matches.
