What a fantastic week we have had! The main highlight for all was our final performances of this year's play, Pirates of the Curry Bean! With confidence and flair, Class 4 produced unforgettable performances for parents and peers alike. A special mention for Mrs Pachl and Elijah for their help with the lighting and props backstage - the show would certainly not have run as smoothly without them.
In English, we progressed with our flashback narrative by describing the memory. For this, we used: past tense, first person, noun phrases, dialogue and fronted adverbials. In Mathematics, Year 5 explored multiplying and dividing decimals by 10, 100 and 1000. To do this we recapped our understanding of the base-10 number system and recognised how the digits remain the same but shift place value columns.
The joint winners of the French end of term art competition were Isla and Oscar. The exercise was to acknowledge the upcoming Olympics that will be taking place in Paris and the brief was to create any picture with a French theme but just to use the three colours of the French flag. The class created some beautiful pictures!
Using Chromebooks, we also completed questionnaires allowing us to reflect on our academic year so far.
