Autumn Term 1-Week 2-Class 2

What a lot of work we have done this week! We have started our phonics lessons, where Year 1 have been learning the graphemes ff, ss, zz, ll, ck and nk. We have sung songs with the words in and had a go at writing words with the graphemes in too. Year 2 have been looking at the graphemes dge and g. In our English lessons we are focussing on Traditional tales. This week, we have read Little Red Riding Hood. We have created character descriptions for her and made wanted posters for granny. We finished off the week acting out the story in small groups. In Art, we are looking at pattern. We have had a go at rubbing on various rough surfaces and using what we did to create patterns. Another way we created a pattern was by printing, this was our favourite lesson! Today we are looking forward to Pep the Poet coming in to share some of his poems with us.
