The class have continued to impress with their settled nature and wonderful attitude to learning this week. With our mathematics lessons, both year 5 and 6 have explored the topic of place value. Many have managed to extend their understanding by completing challenges. This week has also had a particular focus on poetry. More specifically, poetry by Pep the Poet. After performing some of his most thoughtful poems, our class recreated one using our school values as its focus. The published poems look incredible and the flow of the poems is supported by mature and interesting rhyming couplets.
In PE, we have explored health related exercise and a new sport in handball. After learning the basic rules, we completed drills to improve dribbling, shooting and passing. It is very clear that we have some talented players even if they are new to the sport.
In Computing, we explored computer systems and the communicate with each other. This included improving our understanding of how the internet works and the introduction of new vocabulary such as: IP addresses, protocol, domain name and data.
