It has been a week full of great progress and inspiration. A particular highlight of the week was a virtual class visit by Katherine Rundell, who is an acclaimed author, where she explained how she grew to love writing and shared advice for budding enthusiasts. The class were very engaged by her trips to the Amazon, Paris and Zimbabwe that inspired her best-selling novels.
In English, we began our new story, Shadow Cage and have immered ourselves in the spooky supernatural. With great inference skills on display, pupils have summarised the story and explained the characters' feelings and mood throughout. In Maths, we have explored number lines, rounding and ordering. With growing accuracy pupils are able to round any number.
With great teamwork on show, our class became curious scientists when we investigated melting and dissolving. After looking at a demonstration of suagar and water making a solution (being soluble) and butter and water forming layers (insoluble), the class worked in teams to test the solubility of a wide range of materials from macaroni to paint powder!
