It has been a week full of exciting opportunities at Richard Crosse. In Class 4, we have finished our first Maths unit: Place Value. The incredible progress made was testament to the hard work put in by our pupils over the unit. We started our new lessons based on addition and subtraction. In English, we finished the supernatural story 'Shadow-Cage' and have begun planning our own innvovation based on the plot. For this, we have collected a variety of specifc, powerful words that will expand our vocabulary selection in our writing.

In Geography, we developed our understanding of the Tropic of Capricorn by researching countries that are passed through by it. To do this we used digital technologies to create a fact-filled double-page spread in our books. The designs are truly fantastic.

A particularly popular lesson related to Art and our architecture topic. Mrs Pachl helped our pupils learn about Christopher Wren and discussed his impact on his area of expertise. The children drew some fantastic buildings, paying close attention to detail and brilliant precision.

Many are looking forward to our trip to Dearne Valley next week and have already started packing!
