Image of Autumn Term 1 - Week 6

This week, in Class 3, we have moved onto our new English topic which is newspapers. We explored the features of newspapers, ordered events in chronological order and have written quotes using inverted commas. We will eventually write a newspaper report about Howard Carter’s discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb. In Maths, we have been adding and subtracting 1s, 10s and 100s from a number. Sometimes we need to cross the boundary with our sums so we have used place value charts to help us exchange. In Science, our enquiry questions were ‘do we need light to see?’ and ‘can light be reflected from surfaces?’. To answer these questions, we used torches and a variety of materials to test if light did reflect from the material. On Friday, we enjoyed a day of bike ability. Some of the skills we learnt were setting off, cruising, slowing down, braking and stopping. During our RE lessons, we explored the link between a covenant and Christian weddings. We then wrote promises on post notes. Overall, a great week! Well done Class 3.
