It has been another non-stop week in class 4 with a whole variety of opportunities to learn. In English, we have been honing our concise writing to produce informative non-chronological report paragraphs linked to our Geography topic. In Maths, we have been deepening our understanding of factors and prime numbers.

Across the wider curriculum, we have explored another famous architect, Renzo Piano and sketched one of his most famous designs: the Shard in London. In PE, we competed in a handball tournament showing great teamwork and encouragement within our teams. Some great passing resulted in spectacular shots on target leading to goals and breathtaking saves.

On Wednesday. Class 4 visited the University of Birmingham on a day of great inspiration and wonder. Upon arrival, we were invited to the court room in the Law Building. We were invited to discuss the importance of laws and the nuances that make creating clear and fair laws so challenging. Then, we visited the Lapworth Museum and looked around the fascinating exhibits. The head of children’s literature met us here and tasked our class to order the pages of a popular picture book and develop a persuasive blurb. After lunch, we were treated to a fantastic and engaging lecture by the Head of Chemical Engineering, who explained how interesting water is through many interactive demonstrations and activities.
