In RE, we delved into the Jewish festival of Purim. To understand why Jews celebrate Purim, we listened to the story of a kind Jewish girl named Esther. A Long time ago, this brave woman was chosen to be the queen of Persia. Through her bravery she saved all the Jews from being hurt by Haman. We learnt one of the ways Jews celebrate is to dress up in elaborate clothes and wear masks. So, in the spirit of Purim, we made our own vibrant masks. Our Geography adventure has begun with Buddy the Bee. First stop France! We explored French culture, cuisine, and famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower. A classroom scavenger hunt helped us recall the places Buddy had visited. We're all eager to see where his next journey will take us! In English, we've been hard at work writing a recount of Remembrance Day. We made sure to include all the features of a recount we learnt about, like our question sentence as a way of engaging the reader. Class two have tried super hard, and that has shown through their writing. Well done Class two! We've been up to all sorts in Maths, from practicing comparing numbers of different values by using the symbols for greater than, less than, and equal to. Now, we're diving into the world of 2D and 3D shapes, so far, we’ve been learning to identify their features so we can spot similar shapes. What a busy week we have had!
