 Exploring, Discovering and Growing

What an exciting week we’ve had! We have been busy learning new things, asking lots of questions and making wonderful discoveries. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

This week in Maths, we have been working hard on counting in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s. We also explored how to recognise equal parts and even had a go at making them ourselves! It was great fun using different shapes and objects to show how things can be shared equally.

In English, we have been busy writing non-chronological reports all about space! We learned amazing facts about the solar system and used these to write clear and exciting reports. Did you know that Saturn has rings made of ice, rock, and dust? We loved sharing our facts with each other!

In History our space topic came to an exciting end as we learned about timelines and chronological order. We explored the history of space exploration and discovered how Mars rovers are helping scientists learn if Mars could support life in the future! Imagining astronauts on Mars one day was really exciting.

In RE, we deepened our understanding of the Islamic faith. We read stories about The Prophet Muhammad and how he cared for all living creatures. To help us remember these lessons, we wrote his character traits inside templates of ants and cats, linking to the two stories we focused on. It was a lovely way to reflect on kindness and compassion.

A Journey into Spirituality
Thursday was a truly special day as we explored what it means to be spiritual. We started our day with a peaceful visit to our local church, where we talked about how life can be busy and why it’s important to take time to be still. We even tried meditation to help us feel calm and reflect on our feelings. Back at school, we thought about our personal strengths and weaknesses and shared them with each other. We wrote our strengths on head-shaped templates to represent how understanding ourselves can help us feel more connected to our spirituality.

We also looked at the story of The Good Samaritan and talked about kindness and how small acts can make a big difference in the world. Our final activity focused on the natural world—our beautiful planet! We drew pictures of the Earth and its amazing nature to show how we can feel spiritual by appreciating the world around us. To bring everything together, we thought of spirituality like a jigsaw puzzle, with each piece representing a different way we can feel connected to something bigger. It was a day filled with thoughtfulness, creativity and kindness!

What a fantastic week! We can’t wait for more exciting learning next week!
