It's been a whirlwind week in Class 4 at Richard Crosse, packed with learning, creativity, and some seriously thought-provoking moments. Let me tell you all about it!
Year 6 have been tackling their mock SATs booklets this week, and I've been so impressed by their resilience. Seeing them work through numerous questions, keep going even when it gets tough, and support each other has been fantastic. It's a big challenge, but they're facing it with such determination. Well done, Year 6!
Meanwhile, back in Class 4, we've been diving deep into the world of fractions. Multiplying fractions and mixed numbers has been our focus, and it's been a great to see such great progress.
We've also been getting creative with our writing. We're working on Greek myths at the moment, and this week we practiced writing speech, making sure we punctuated it all correctly. It's amazing how speech marks can bring a story to life! We've been imagining the conversations between gods and heroes, and it's been really enjoyable to write.
In art, we've been exploring the dramatic world of charcoal drawing. We focused on drawing eyes, and it was incredible to see the different effects we could create with charcoal. It's a messy business, but the results were so striking! We learned about shading and blending to create realistic and expressive eyes.
Our RE lesson this week was really interesting. We've been investigating the concept of forgiveness, and it's been a really thought-provoking topic. We discussed what forgiveness means, why it can be difficult, and how it can help us. We even compared some of the ideas to our own experiences, which made the discussion even more meaningful.
Finally, Thursday was our school-wide Spirituality Day. It was a really special day where we explored four different aspects of spirituality: relating to myself, relating to others, relating to the Earth, and relating to the divine. We did lots of different activities, from quiet reflection to group discussions, and it was a chance to think about things beyond our everyday lives. It was a really calming and reflective day, and I think everyone took something positive away from it.
