In Maths, we've been diving deeper into the world of fractions! We tackled the sometimes tricky topic of improper fractions, understanding what they are and how they relate to mixed numbers. We also put our thinking caps on to practise comparing fractions, using different strategies to work out which fraction is bigger or smaller.
Our English lessons have been all about refining our writing skills. We've been meticulously proofreading and editing our non-chronological reports about the Romans. It's amazing to see how much our reports have improved through careful checking and making sure our facts are accurate and our writing flows well. This week, we also took the exciting final step of publishing our reports! We're so proud of the hard work everyone has put in, and we can't wait to share our Roman knowledge.
Moving onto RE, we've been exploring the significance of Holy Communion. To help us visualise this important sacrament, we got creative and designed our own stained glass windows. It was fascinating to think about the symbolism and colours that could represent this special act of worship. Some truly beautiful and thoughtful designs were created!
This week also saw us getting our hands messy (in the best way!) as we prepared for Mothering Sunday. On Monday, we unleashed our inner artists to create some beautiful Mothering Sunday artwork. We experimented with different techniques using paints, plastic bags, and printing to create unique and colourful flower designs. It was a fun and creative way to express our appreciation.
Then, on Thursday, we had the pleasure of joining the whole school for our Mothering Sunday service in church. It was a truly lovely occasion, filled with heartfelt moments and a real sense of community. It was wonderful to see all the different contributions from each class, celebrating the special women in our lives.
Finally, behind the scenes, we've also been incredibly busy practicing for our upcoming school play! The excitement is building and we're all working hard to learn our lines and perfect our roles. We can't wait to share our performance with you all soon!
It's been a packed week, full of learning, creativity, and celebration. Keep up the fantastic work, Class 3!
