Congratulations on year 6 for completing SATs week with such great courage and resillience. Year 5 were also on top form doing their end of year assessments!
In the lessons around the tests, class 4 have been learning about the 10 Gurus of Sikhi, vital rallying skills in tennis, the importance of SNoT (Show not tell) in descriptive narratives and how to field effectively in rounders.
On Friday, we were treated to an amazing trip to Packington Farm in Barton-under-Needwood. After being greeted by Roy and Jules, and taken on a trailer trip to the education centre, we enjoyed several activities exploring the processes of food production on a farm and its wildlife. A particular highlight was the opportunity to work in teams to build a human size nest out of logs and branches. The trail walk was stunning and informative as our children worked in small groups to identify which crops were essential in making the foods shown on photos along the path. In the afternoon, we uncovered the full process of wheat to flat bread. This included: grinding the wheat to make flour, mixing flour and water to make dough, kneading and shaping the dough once risen, watching the bread being fried and finally consuming the cooked flat bread! Thanks to all at the farm who made the memorable trip possible.
