Class 1 summer 2 week 3 2025

This week reception have been practising adding numbers together using 10s frames and counters. We will continue to do lots of practise at adding and taking away now in preparation for Year 1.

Everyday we practise counting beyond 20, doubling numbers and recognising odd and even numbers. 

Preschool have been looking at patterns and have been creating patterns with different loose parts.

The children have amazed us with their writing this week and have been writing and illustrating postcards. They have taken part in an investigation to see what rubbish floats or sinks in our oceans. We talked about saving our oceans and how we can help to reduce plastic pollution.

Today I read the story ‘The boy who cried wolf!’ We talked about the effects of not telling the truth.

In music we enjoyed listening to Debussy’s La Mer and the children experimented making sea sounds with the percussion instruments.
 

The children have made dragon flies to be displayed at the open gardens.
