What a busy week it's been again in Class 2! We've been working so hard, and we're so proud of everything we've achieved. In English, we've been continuing our adventures with Peter Rabbit! We loved rewriting his story, and we tried really hard to use lots of amazing conjunctions (like 'and', 'but', and 'because') to join our sentences together. We also focused on making our writing super descriptive with expanded noun phrases – can you remember what those are? And of course, we made sure to use our punctuation correctly, with full stops, capital letters, and even some exclamation marks! Maths has been all about fractions, and we've reached the end of that topic! We've become real experts at understanding that a half is the same as two quarters, and we can even work out three quarters of things. We've also been busy counting in fractions all the way up to a whole – fantastic work, everyone! This week marked the exciting start of our new History topic! We kicked things off with a super fun treasure hunt where we got to find out lots of important facts about a very important person: Florence Nightingale. We remembered so much from that first lesson that we were ready for our second lesson straight away! We also learned all about how awful hospitals were in Victorian times. Can you imagine going to a hospital that wasn't clean and didn't have many nurses? We're so glad things are different now! Finally, in PE, we've been getting ready for the big Sports Day! We've been practising our races, trying our best to run fast and jump high. We're all very excited for the big day and can't wait to show off our skills! Well done, Class 2, for another brilliant week of learning and fun!
