What a fantastic and jam-packed week Class 4 has had! We kicked things off with an exhilarating Greenpower event at Curborough Race Track on Monday. It was brilliant to see our Year 6 students demonstrate their driving skills, navigating the track in various events. Our Year 5 students were invaluable, working as a team to help push the cars and ensure everyone had the right helmets and gloves – great teamwork, everyone!

The rest of the week saw us switch gears and tap into our creative sides. We explored the vibrant world of Kandinsky, creating our own unique masterpieces inspired by his abstract art. The classroom was a riot of color and shape!

Our literacy lessons were all about becoming junior journalists. We delved into Shakespeare's Macbeth, specifically the famous banquet scene. We spent time drafting, editing, and redrafting our very own newspaper reports, focusing on capturing the drama and intrigue of the event.

In Maths, we wrapped up our algebra topic with a flourish. We learned to form and solve equations, discover pairs of values, and tackle tricky problems involving pairs of unknowns. You all showed great perseverance and understanding with some challenging concepts!

History transported us back in time to the fascinating world of the ancient Maya. We honed our chronology skills by creating a detailed timeline of their civilization. Then, we acted like historical detectives, making inferences about Mayan culture and society from incredible images of their famous artefacts. It was amazing to see how much we could learn from just a few clues!

As well as this, we have gotten well underway with our practice for our upcoming Class 4 production!

Finally, in PE, we got ready for some sporting action! We learned the rules of Dynamo Cricket, practicing our skills and getting prepared for a tournament coming up next Wednesday.
