2025 Class 3- Autumn Term1- Week 2

This week, in Class 3, we have been introduced to our new fictional text 'Leon and The Place Between' by Grahame Baker-Smith. We have completed our first 'Big Write' which was to write a setting description using prepositions, noun phrases and FANBOYS. In Maths, we have been representing numbers to 10,000 and partitioning them. It was particularly helpful for some children to draw place value counters, especially when flexibly partitioning them. On Monday, we continued our World War 1 topic by inquiring how World War 1 was caused. This sparked an intriguing debate and we concluded the inquiry by constructing a timeline of key World War 1 events. At the end of the week, we reflected on our school values and considered how we have shown kindness and what achievements we can be proud of.
