A Festive and Fruitful Final Week in Class 4! ????
It has been a truly merry final week of the term here in Class 4. The children have shown immense dedication to their studies while embracing the festive spirit that has filled our corridors.
✍️ Masterful Writing & Storytelling
In English, we reached a wonderful milestone as the children finished their narrative extracts. We focused heavily on characterization through dialogue, learning how to reveal a character's personality through what they say and how they say it. To celebrate their hard work, the children "published" their final pieces, showcasing their most polished and elegant handwriting. The results are truly impressive!
Mastering the Order of Operations
Our Maths journey took us through the completion of our Multiplication and Division 2 unit. The children tackled the logic-heavy world of BODMAS, learning how to navigate complex calculations by following the correct order of operations. It was wonderful to see so many "lightbulb moments" as they solved these mathematical puzzles.
Science & The Great Beyond
In Science, we concluded our unit by looking up at the stars—or rather, back at our own planet. We explored the science behind the Earth’s tilted axis, discovering how this tilt creates our changing seasons and dictates the length of our daylight hours. It was a perfectly timed lesson as we head into the shortest days of the year!
History: The Road to Victory
Our final History lesson regarding the Second World War was a profound one. We discussed the significance of ‘The Big Three’ and analyzed the diplomacy and cooperation required by the Allies to dismantle the Nazi machine. The children showed great maturity in discussing the collaborative effort required to bring peace to Europe.
Slam Dunks and Sportsmanship
On the court, our Basketball unit came to a thrilling conclusion. With a fantastic display of athletic skill and teamwork, the children participated in a series of action-packed games. The level of sportsmanship and improvement in their dribbling and shooting was a joy to watch.
Festive Fun
Beyond our academic achievements, we made sure to celebrate the season! From the competitive spirit of our Big Christmas Quiz to the laughter shared during our afternoon party, it has been the perfect way to wrap up a fantastic term.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a restful break. I look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for a brand-new year of learning in 2026!
