Class 1 spring 1 Week 3 2026

This week you will photographs of the reception children exploring weight and capacity.The children were surprised by some of their estimates. 

In Monster Phonics the children have learnt the ‘ar’ sound which is surprisingly tricky for the children to say and hear in words. 
 

This week we have started learning about Australia. The children have learnt that Australia is a country, island and a continent. They are really excited about learning about the Australian animals and enjoyed watching a short film about the Platypus. 
 

Please talk to the children about this topic to help them not only develop their understanding of the world but also associated vocabulary.

Thank you to those of you who have sent in snack money. We have been able to purchase some more play dough and small world Australian animals.
