What a lovely week we have had celebrating Chinese New Year and finding out all about how the Chinese celebrate.

We have made lanterns and dragons and listened to Chinese traditional musical instruments.

The children have enjoyed listening to the Gingerbread man and today they made gingerbread biscuits.

Although the children enjoyed eating them, we saved some to do an experiment. The children had to experiment with different materials to see if they could make a boat to get a gingerbread man safely across a river!

In maths, reception enjoyed finding out about 3D shapes. They listened to the story of Rapunzel and then used shapes to build Rapunzel’s tower.

Preschool enjoyed making patterns using small world animals and coloured beads and counters.

I read the Easter story to the children and then in groups, they had a go at sequencing pictures to retell the events.

We hope you enjoy looking at our photographs.

Thank you to those of you who have donated soil and plants for our garden. We will begin gardening next week subject to weather conditions.
