The penultimate week of our half term was packed full of wonderful learning and hard work. Our year 6 cohort have studied tirelessly in preperation for next week’s SATs and should be extremely proud of their efforts. Year 5 finished their unit on ratio & proportion demonstrating a strong understanding of a new concept.
In Engish, we have finished draftng our Beowulf tales. The figurative language and description on show has made them fascinating to read. It was also great to see how many children challenged themselves to include varied punctuation throughout their pieces.
Across the wider curriculum, art and outdoor were a great success where year 5 sketched some fantastic portraits and year 6 produced creative designs of artwork from nature. In Computing, we have investigated vector drawings and developed our own parrots and school logos. Our RE lesson included learning all about Eid-el-fitr: , the significant Islamic holiday marking the end of Ramadan. It is characterized by prayers, family gatherings, and charitable acts.
Topic for Talk - to support our focus on oracy, below is a question linked to our learning this week to discuss with your child.
Why do muslims fast for Ramadan?
