Welcome back to the Class 3 blog, where we have an incredibly busy and exciting week of learning to share with you! At the beginning of the week, we kicked off our brand-new history topic, 'The Ages of Man', by becoming history detectives. We investigated how we can know so much about pre-BC times when nobody was around to write things down, discovering that we can learn an immense amount from archaeologists digging up ancient artefacts, paleontologists studying fossils, and early humans leaving behind vivid cave paintings that tell us all about their culture. This historic journey tied in beautifully with our new English text, a stunning picture book called 'A Stone for Sascha', which has filled the children with a wonderful sense of wonder and curiosity about the past.

In Maths, the children have been stretching their brains by diving into the world of decimals, working hard to understand how whole numbers are broken down into tenths and hundredths. Our science lesson also took a very hands-on approach this week as we rolled up our sleeves to complete a fascinating plant dissection. By carefully separating the roots, stems, leaves, and flower parts, the children were able to closely examine and understand the unique purposes of each section of a living plant.

To round off our week, we took to the courts for our very first tennis lesson in PE. The children focused on building up their agility and speed while mastering essential techniques, such as getting into the proper 'ready position' so they are always prepared to return the ball. It has been a fantastic week of growth and discovery across all of our subjects, and we are so proud of how hard Class 3 is working. Thank you for your continued support at home, and we look forward to another brilliant week of adventures ahead!
