It has been a scorching week at Richard Crosse and full of exciting lessons and opportunities. We have been estimating and measuring angles in maths to begin our shape topic. In ENglish, we have been writing a letter from the perspective of Lydia which showed great informality and understanding of our character through inferences made. Then, we produced a setting description for a dystopian society.

In PE, we have begun our topics of golf and tennis. Using our own Golfway clubs, class 4 learnt how to swing a club and hit the ball with increasing accuracy and precision. In tennis, we began by looking at how to hold a racket correctly and move around with a ball. Then, we played a game requiring the ball landing in a hoop between hits by each partner.

A particular highlight of the week was GreenPower where we raced our custom built goblin karts around Curborough Sprint Course. Against the other schools in our trust, we competed with inspirational zest and commitment to win the races with spectacular times.

Thank you for all those who are continuing to learn their lines for the play at home. Your hard work is always appreciated.
