This week the children continued to learn that everyone is special, unique and important. I reminded the children about the story of the lost sheep and then we looked at baptism.
The children talked about when babies are born and how some are baptised and welcomed into god’s world. The children role played a Christening.
We continued to learn about the oceans and this week looked at some food chains. The children made paper chains, a link representing a producer and the further links to represent the consumers.
The children listened to the story ‘The whale who wanted more’. They learned about how having friends and enjoying time together is more important than having lots of material things.
The children drew a whale and the reception children wrote sentences to describe the whale.
The children enjoyed making patterns in maths.
In music, we sang actions songs about the sea and enjoyed shaking egg shakers in time to the pulse.
I am proud of how well the children have coped in the extreme heat!
Hopefully it will cool down a bit soon. Have a lovely weekend!
