Class 4 have had another exciting week full of learning and new opportunities. On Monday, many of our year 6 group enjoyed transition days at their secondary school placements. During this time, Class 4 welcomed its new cohort from Class 3 and undertook a wonderful morning of activities and settling in.
Throughout the rest of the week, we continued to do play practice and improve our oracy. In Mathematics, we investigated the angles in triangles and various ways to find answers without requiring a potractor. In English, we experimented being journalists interviewing characters from Thief about a crime that they witnessed.
With great enthusiasm and thought, we created our own sculptures (Murtis) in RE. We made these represent abstract feelings and values that are seen in faith. In Science, we explored the meaning of fossil fuels and completed an activity of mining chocolate chips out of cookies to represent the damage caused by excavating fossil fuels for energy.
