We have had yet another wonderfully busy week in Key Stage 1, which started off a little bit differently on Monday morning as the children enjoyed a fantastic transition morning getting a sneak peek at the classes they will be in this coming September. The excitement continued into Tuesday when four of our children brilliantly represented our class in the MAT Spelling Bee; they did absolutely amazingly, narrowly losing out on first place by just a single point, and I am incredibly proud of them all. In Maths, we successfully finished our work on measure by exploring capacity and volume, discussing the difference between millilitres and litres and exactly how we would use both units of measure in real life. Meanwhile, our English lessons have seen us continuing our non-chronological reports on penguins, where the children have been working hard on structuring their writing using clear subheadings with appropriate paragraphs of information drafted underneath. We also tried our hand at music this week by learning how to play the glockenspiel, and while we absolutely loved the lesson, we quickly realized we will need a little bit more practice at keeping in time and hitting the right notes! It has been another beautifully busy week of learning, and I hope you all have a wonderful, well-deserved weekend.
