Welcome back! It has been absolutely wonderful to see everyone’s smiley faces returning after the summer break. The children have settled back into the school routine brilliantly and were so excited to discover all the fantastic changes made to our corridor over the holidays.
This first week has been all about building our class community. We spent plenty of time helping the children get used to our new daily routines and practising working together with new classmates and learning partners.
In maths, we kicked off our learning by focusing on place value, working hard on building, counting, and understanding numbers up to 20. All reading books have now been checked, organised, and handed out, so we are completely set up to make wonderful progress with our reading this term.
We took a gentler, more relaxed approach to our afternoons to help everyone ease back into things. The children thoroughly enjoyed our PE sessions, building imaginative creations with Lego, and making the most of outdoor play. It has been a delightful, positive start to the new school year, and we are so proud of how well the class has adapted. We are looking forward to getting fully stuck into the rest of our lessons and exciting new topics next week!
